Men's Artistic Gymnastics (MAG)

 

MAG Beginners

 

This class is an introduction to Men's Artistic Gymnastics. Boys can progress into this class via the Gymstarz Recreational program, or can join straight into this program. Gymnasts are introduced to basic conditioning, flexibility and strength within these classes. These attributes are essential in the development of the gymnastic skills. Boys are taught the first basic skills required for routines across all six men’s apparatus: vault, pommel, parallel bars, floor, high bars and rings.

 

MAG Beginners program classes run on a Thursday from 5:00 - 6:30pm

 

MAG Level 1-2

 

This class is a progression on from the MAG Beginners class. Boys from the age of 10+ can join this class without moving through the MAG Beginners class. This class is a recreational as well as a competitve class. Boys continue to improve on their conditioning, flexibility and strength within these classes. Gymnasts start learning the routine requirements for the MAG 1-2 routines within this class.  The skills they are learning are essential in the development of routines. Boys are taught the routines across all six men’s apparatus: vault, pommel, parallel bars, floor, high bars and rings.

 

MAG Level 1-2 classes run on a Thursday from 5:00 - 7:00pm

 

MAG Level 3-10

 

This is our Senior program, gymnasts prepare to pass Level 3 and above. To pass to the next level, gymnasts must compete in a State based Levels Test, with State appointed Judges. Within Seniors the gymnasts have the opportunity to compete both within the Academy and the State as well as Nationally. Senior training is based upon the gymnast developing the necessary strength, flexibility, conditioning and then developing the skill.
